"Fukamushi" (Deep-steamed) Sencha
The very finest green tea, straight from Japan’s premier growing region, Yame. Each cup of Yame green tea contains 400 years of history and expertise, as many of the farms and plantations around the area have been in operation under the same family for generations. Despite being known across the nation for producing some of the finest grade tea, the farmers of Yame have never let their reputation go to their heads; everything from roasting techniques to optimal soil conditions is constantly being reassessed, refined and improved from generation to generation.
The result of this ceaseless dedication to the concept of kaizen (continuous improvement) is the Yame Premier Reserve. The leaves used in this tea are allowed to steam for no more than 30 seconds, resulting in a more full bodied taste than regular Sencha, with hints of butter and almonds. For best results, brew with warm water (85 degrees) and allow to steep for 1-2 minutes.
For cold: dissolve with 30 ml 80 degree hot water, then add 50-70ml of ice cold (15-20 degrees) water
For hot: brew with approx 120-150ml 80 degree hot water.
